Linden Playgroup has been established since 1967 and provides high quality but affordable care and education for pre-school children in a safe, stimulating, caring, and above all, FUN environment. We are OFSTED registered and are a member of the Pre School Learning Alliance.
Who can attend? - Any pre-school child from the age of 2-5 years.
When is it open? - Every weekday in school term-time. Session times are 8.45-11.45am and 12.15-3.15pm. There are also additional 1/2 hour Lunch club and Late club sessions from 11.45-12.15 and 3.15-3.45pm if you want to extend a session or link them together to give full daycare.
Where is it? - At St Cuthbert's Church on Grimscar Road, turn left onto Linden Road (next to K Pharmacy). Take a path round to the left between the Church and the Lighthouse Centre, we are in the brown door accessed from the enclosed garden area.
What activities are available? - There are always lots of exciting play opportunities for the children to explore - sand, water, paint, collage and other lovely messy activities, block play, puzzles and games, computer, stories, songs and music, as well as a fantastic 'house' for role play, dressing up and imaginative play. We also have a lovely outdoor area with lots of natural areas for opportunities to grow things and explore the natural world, as well as soft-surfacing with space to be physically active in a safe environment.
How much does it cost? - Fees are kept to a minimum as we are a non profit making organisation. Fees are £6 per 3 hour session. Fruit momney is 20p per session. The additional 1/2 hour clubs are £2 per session. If your child is 3 years or above, we can claim up to 15 FREE hours per week for them in the term after their 3rd birthday.
How do I register my child? - As we have a waiting list it is advisable to put your child's name down early. Either call in to the playgroup or phone Fiona on 536540/07858609546 or Rhuksana on 544248 who will be pleased to register your child or arrange a visit to the playgroup.
